3 Blue Birds – How we reduce paper towel waste

If you don’t pour frying oil down the sink, you can see why we cannot pour our extra oils down the sink either. Typically you have to use paper towels to wipe out residue before washing and compost the waste. 3 Blue Birds (a fellow 1% for the Planet member) makes eco-friendly swedish dishcloths that feel just like paper towels! A typical cloth paper towel replacement can leave little fuzzies on our bowls and make them more difficult to wash. We do not have these issues with these cloths and we love how committed they are to improving their communities through sales as well.

Terracycle – How we mitigate plastic waste sent in

EcoEnclose – Our boxes and packaging materials supplier

Donations:

Throughout the year, Soft Like Me will make a donation to a charity of our choosing based on sales performance from the months prior and tips collected at check out. We will announce which charity once we have chosen one and successfully reached out to them. This will allow us time to research charities, their causes, and world events that may change needs. Every charity will get a write up in the newsletter on why we chose them, and to shine a light on what they are doing to make things better for their communities.

We also contribute through our 1% for the Planet membership. We really believe in making charitable contributions to our community as a cost of business.
